Men and their Wages, Women and their Ages.. Spirituality and its Sages!

What is enlightenment? What does this word mean? Who are the people who have achieved this profound spiritual understanding and are just waiting to unleash it on the lesser mortals? Does one really see bright lights and visions of heaven? Could they need vision correction or in spiritual terms- Is it selective vision where you're then blocking the shadows?

No offense meant to anyone.. I am trying to interpret the concept and many questions run in my head.. I feel the word has been used, misused and abused- and brought it to a point where the word's losing it's meaning..

What is spirituality? What's the big deal about being enlightened anyway? To me it is a personal journey.. not a destination.. to try every day to live our lives in the best possible ways, make decisions that are beneficial to us and those around.. To learn from our mistakes, make less of them and believe that so long as we are breathing we have the power to change.. It is a constant process.. you grow and learn from every experience.. help others- with money if you have or just a kind word or thought would do. That's spirituality for me..

Enlightenment? Well, it could be the feeling i get with every bite of the double chocolate cupcake, butter kulcha, brownie, Gobi manchurian, choco chip cookie, blueberry cheesecake, bombay masala pizza or mud pie!! *behosh and gone to gastronomical heaven* (Could this also mean I belong to the live to eat - category? :))

Could it be that easy? Who is to judge, really? One word.. many meanings.. to each his own.. personal+ private.. And then I think, just as Men and their wages, women and their ages are not the hottest discussion topics, could it apply to Spirituality and its Sages? Close to your heart without need to announce it to the world?

The brownie talk has distracted and made me hungry. I will have to leave this post.. shall continue after the brownie has been relished ;)

Cheers,
